High Level of Data Security

The DataTalk platform has been designed with a strong focus on the cybersecurity of industrial and critical infrastructure systems. Its security architecture combines modern authentication methods, access control, protection against cyberattacks, and the latest cryptographic technologies to meet today’s security requirements while remaining prepared for future threats.

Strong User Authentication

DataTalk supports two-factor authentication (2FA) using TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password). Authentication is performed entirely offline, without relying on external cloud services or an internet connection, making it particularly suitable for industrial networks and isolated environments.

The platform also includes advanced password strength validation that evaluates password resilience against common attack methods. The validation process includes:

  • comparison against an extensive database of the most commonly used and compromised passwords,
  • detection of common names, words, and phrases across multiple languages and cultures,
  • identification of weak patterns such as birth dates, repeated characters, sequential numbers, keyboard sequences (e.g., qwerty, 123456), and character substitutions using so-called leetspeak.

These mechanisms significantly reduce the risk of user account compromise.

Role-Based Access Control

The platform implements Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), enabling administrators to precisely define permissions for different user groups, including administrators, service technicians, operators, and standard users.

At the same time, DataTalk follows the Principle of Least Privilege. Each user has access only to the functions, devices, and data required to perform their role. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access and minimizes the impact of a compromised user account.

Protection Against Unauthorized Access

To minimize attacks targeting authentication mechanisms, DataTalk implements multiple layers of protection:

  • limitation of failed login attempts (Ban Policy),
  • automatic blocking of repeated login attempts,
  • IP-based rate limiting to protect against brute-force and automated attacks.

These measures significantly reduce the likelihood of successful account compromise.

Audit and Traceability

All authentication-related events are recorded in comprehensive audit logs. The platform tracks user logins and logouts, providing complete traceability, supporting security audits, and simplifying the investigation of security incidents.

Post-Quantum Cryptography

DataTalk is prepared for the next generation of cybersecurity threats through support for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

Current asymmetric algorithms such as RSA and ECC may eventually become vulnerable to sufficiently powerful quantum computers. By implementing quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms, DataTalk protects sensitive information against future attack scenarios such as “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later,” where encrypted data is captured today and decrypted years later.

Support for PQC is especially important in industrial automation, SCADA systems, energy infrastructure, and other critical industries, where system lifecycles typically extend from 10 to 20 years. A solution designed today without post-quantum protection may become cryptographically obsolete during its operational lifetime.

DataTalk therefore establishes a security foundation that is ready for future regulatory requirements while providing long-term protection for industrial data.

Comprehensive Multi-Layer Security

The combination of strong authentication, granular access control, multi-layer attack protection, comprehensive audit capabilities, and post-quantum cryptography creates a security architecture that meets the requirements of modern industrial information systems.

The DataTalk platform is designed to protect not only today’s data and infrastructure but also customers’ long-term technology investments.
