Introduction

The Connect Log & Report module is designed to collect data from connected devices and use that data to generate structured reports. It supports integration with various communication protocols, as described in the Connections section, and enables both scheduled and event-based report generation.

Key Features

  • Device Connection & Data Logging
    • Connects to devices using supported communication protocols.
    • Continuously collects and logs data from connected equipment.
    • Logged data becomes available for use in the reporting system.
  • Report Generation
    • Allows creation of custom reports based on collected data.
    • Reports can include production metrics, quality indicators, error rates, or other relevant information.
  • Scheduling & Triggering
    • Reports can be generated periodically (e.g., hourly, daily, weekly).
    • Reports can also be triggered by device events, such as a change in tag value.
      • Example: When a production line finishes its cycle, a tag value changes. This triggers the generation of a report summarizing the production session (e.g., number of produced units, errors, downtime).
  • Report Delivery
    • Generated reports can be automatically sent to designated recipients (e.g., management or maintenance teams) via email or other supported notification methods.

By using the Connect Log & Report module, users can automate the reporting process, reduce manual data handling, and ensure that critical production and performance information is delivered to the right people at the right time.
