Network

DataTalk IPC includes a simple yet powerful network configuration tool that allows you to seamlessly set up and manage network connectivity.

Status

The Status tab provides an overview of all network interfaces, including their configuration details, routing information, and the current state of the Wi-Fi or modem connection. Signal strength is also displayed where applicable.

Ethernet

A configuration interface for managing Ethernet ports.

You can configure the Ethernet ports to operate either as a bridge or as independent interfaces—useful, for example, when you need to separate the “customer” network from the “PLC” network to maintain a high security level.

  • WAN – 1 Gbit port
Can obtain an IP address via DHCP or be configured with a static IP.
  • LAN – 100 Mbit port
Can also operate in DHCP or static mode.
In static mode, a DHCP server may be enabled on this port to automatically assign IP addresses to connected devices.

WiFi

The WiFi interface operates only in client mode and cannot function as an access point.

You may enter the SSID manually or use the Scan tool, which lists all available access points in range, including their signal strength, to help you choose the optimal one.

Modem

The modem functions as a backup connection and activates automatically when no other internet source is available (Ethernet or WiFi).

Watchdog

The watchdog service periodically checks the availability of a defined host.
If the host becomes unreachable, the IPC can automatically switch from Ethernet to LTE.
It will continue monitoring the host over Ethernet and switch back to wired connectivity once the connection is restored.

Firewall

Allows you to create, edit, or remove firewall rules in order to allow or restrict access to specific ports on selected interfaces.

Port Forwarding

Allows you to set up port forwarding rules between network interfaces.
